IT’S ‘A GUY THING.’
Warm weather weekends are finally here to stay and across this great land of ours, lawn mowers are revving, porch decks are being hosed down, and the covers are coming off the family pool. Dad is dusting off his sandals, shaking out his shorts, and moving his favorite Hawaiian shirt to the front of the closet, Mom is searching the drug store shelves for sun block with a higher SPF than my S.A.T. scores, and the kids are beginning to ask, “When can we go to the beach?”
Yes, June is upon us, which means that Father’s Day is almost here, and since I devoted most of last month’s feature article to singing the praises of Mom, it’s only fair that I should give a nod to dear old Dad this month. Despite the fact that TV sit-coms continue to portray Dad as a clueless slacker who must be coerced into parenting by an omniscient Mom, in reality Dads are pretty neat guys. I know because I have a Dad and I am a Dad. And while neither of us will ever win any awards for our parenting skills, we both are doing the best we can and that, I think, deserves some recognition.
So, what should you get your Dad for his special day? While most Dads would probably be quite happy with a promise of a few undisturbed Sunday afternoons in front of the TV screen at game time, most of us still insist on presenting him with an endless assortment of loud ties he will never wear, boxes of starched handkerchiefs he will never unpack, and enough strange colognes to camouflage an army of skunks. Here at www.benegifts.com we think we have come up with a better solution.
Floating Globe with Electromagnetic Base
Let’s face it, first and foremost, Dad is ‘a guy’ and guys have a running love affair with two things: sports and gadgets. Now, I know I’m talking about stereotypes here, but within every stereotype there is at least a grain of truth. And unless you can get Dad season tickets to next year’s Lakers games, your best bet is to look for the newest, state-of-the-art gadget. That’s because guys are drawn to gadgets like moths to a flame or bees to a field of flowers. Hey, I’m a guy and I know it’s true. Show me some quirky little gizmo and my male radar lights up like a Christmas tree! Believe me, ‘guys and gadgets’ is a match made in heaven.
Well, at www.benegifts.com we have found a gadget that will knock the socks off any guy and any Dad. It’s the marvelous and entertaining LEVITATING GLOBE. It’s one of our new products and it comes just in time for Father’s Day!
Using the latest technology and a series of hidden magnets, you can now give Dad a beautifully detailed world globe that is actually suspended in mid-air! The Globe itself and the top portion of its base contain permanent magnets. But the real secret is hidden in the bottom part of the base: a small processor which constantly measures the distance between the globe and the top portion of the base and which generates the exact magnetic field needed to keep the globe levitating between the two magnets.
Floating Globe
Check it out. It’s like giving Dad his own personal UFO! What Dad, what guy, could resist something like that? The LEVITATING GLOBE from www.benegifts.com is a gift that even the most discriminating Dad can enjoy and proudly display. And best of all, it’s a Father’s Day gift that won’t end up in the bottom of Dad’s dresser drawer.
